1700s Kent Co., MD
William McKENNEY of Kent County, Maryland wrote his will 1 Jan 1774; it was proved 26 Jan 1776. He mentioned his sons James McKenney and William McKenney. He also mentioned the land and house that he bought from William MUNK / MONK. His executrix was Mrs. Margrett (Margaret) FINDLY (Findley/Findlay).Witnesses were: Jno LORAIN, [?] BARDON, David BOYD
Margaret FINDLEY wrote her will 28 Jan 1782 and it was proved 22 Sep 1785 also in Kent County. She mentioned her son, William MUNK (the same that William Monk that William McKenney had bought the house from?) and her grandsons, James and William McKENNEY. Witnesses: Robert REID & John HARTLEY
And then there was Elizabeth INGRAM who was involved somehow with these two others. Her will was written 1 Jan 1774 and proved 1 Jul 1777. She mentioned her granddaughter, Elizabeth DUN wife of James. She also mentioned her children William McKINNEY, Mary McCLEAN [Mary m1 Thomas LORAIN and had sons, John and Thomas, jr.], Edward INGRAM and Elizabeth STOREY. Witnesses were David BOYD, Mary BARDON, Abraham MILTON.
Then James Brown DUNN whose will was written 7 Nov 1788 mentioned, in addition to his children, his wife Elizabeth DUNN [this would be the granddaughter of Elizabeth INGRAM, above] and witnesses Thomas LORAIN, Darius DUNN and William McKINNEY.
Clearly all these families were related. Is there anyone researching them? I am especially interested in the McKENNEYS!
