Hi Gail,
I am distantly related to the Benjamin Dunn family. My gggrandmother, Jane Ford married Benjamin after her first Husband Joseph Vinson died. I am descended from the Vinson line. My Dad worked on the family tree between 1960 and 1975. His notes contained the following information about the Benjamin Dunn line:
Benjamin Dunn
+ Jane Ford
2Remus Dunn
+Martha Thompson
3Martha Dunn
2nd Wife of Remus Dunn
+Mary Thompson
3Ruth Dunn
3rd Wife of Remus Dunn
+Amy Langston
3Paul Dunn
3Jake Dunn
3Remus Dunn
3Dora Dunn
3Annie Dunn
3Rachel Dunn
3Delia Dunn
3Ada Dunn
3Mildred Dunn
3Albert Dunn
4th Wife of Remus Dunn
+Lina Morris
3Richard (Dirk) Dunn
3Nellie Dunn
This is all of the Dunn info in the notes. As you see, there is a problem with the last name of Martha and Mary. If you have accurate info, let me know and I will correct my records. Also, if you are interested in descendants of Jane Ford and Benfamin Dunn, send me a note at email:[email protected].
As a further note, Benjamin Dunn had a large farm (I believe now part of Bentonville Battleground National Memorial). I have heard that the Dunn family burial plot is on the site and possibly still maintained by the agency in charge of the Memorial.
I was born 5 miles east of Smithfield, but now live in northern California. I doubt that I will ever get back to the area, so can't help with additional info.
