Benjamin Dunn owned a farm in Bentonville, NC. The farm is
part of the Civil War battlefield. I believe the land is now part of a national monument.
The Benjamin Dunn family as I have researched is as follows:
Benjamin Dunn + Jane Ford had one son
Remus Dunn (My ancestors called him Uncle Remus
+Martha Dunn
had one daughter Martha Dunn
+Mary Thompson (2nd wife)
had one daughter Ruth Dunn
+Amy Langston (3rd wife) had the following
children:Paul Dunn, Jake Dunn, Remus Dunn, Dora
Dunn, Annie Dunn, Rachel Dunn, Delia
Dunn, Ada Dunn, Mildred Dunn, Albert
Dunn
+Lina Morris (4th wife) had the following
children:Richard (Dirk) Dunn, Nellie Dunn
Uncle Remus was a very busy man as you can see.
My gggrandfather Joseph Vinson married Jane Ford after Benjamin Dunn passed away.
Since the Dunn name is not directly in my ancestry, I have done no further research on that family. I understand many of the family still live in Johnston Co., NC. Also, I believe that the Dunn family cemetary is still maintained on the battlefield.
