Bonnie, I do not have any direct proof. Michael Thomas Dunman had 4 daughters according to the 1840 St. Clair Co., AL census. Jane and Elizabeth are still at home on the 1850 census. Malinda lived near Michael and was married to Henry Smith. Nancy is a name that was used often in the Dunman families. Michael, Jr., John C. and Eli all got married in Marshall Co., AL in the 1850's. These were the only Dunmans in that section of Alabama.

This is why I think Nancy was the fourth daughter of Michael Thomas, Sr.
