August, 20th, 2002: After I arrived in St. Arnaud, I found a room at the Manchester Hotel for $15.00 this night. I went towards the Anglican Church & while there ran into (Friar) Warren Rumble who graciously drove me two (2) kilometers to the burial ground. With a phone call we tracked and traced the actual grave to WILLIAM "RALPH" GRIERSON. He is buried at ROW (8) eight ~ that is eight rows behind the Large (Angel) which is found on the MANSFIELD PLOT ~ grave eighteen (18). The Tombstone is indeed fallen & fragmented, however, it was readable: -- "Sacred to the Memory of William R. Grierson, born July 22nd, 1813, Dublin, Ireland; died September 20th, 1897, St. Arnaud, Australia". The grave is edged in granite or stone with a cast-iron Tressly Framing. It is located directly between, and opposite of the graves of JOHN WEBBER who died on the 20th of June, 1895, and ALEXANDER DUNLOP who died on the 29th of October, 1943 and he is directly in front of grave 874-A and to his left is grave no. 699-A and to his right is grave no. 654-A. He was eighty-four (84) years old. Notify Administrator about this message?
