My 4th great grandparents Charles and Rachel (Dunlap) Evans named their first son Piner. Charles and Rachel were married Sept. 5, 1811 in Stokes County NC. I do not know who their parents were (but Piner, being an unusual name, may have been the given name of Rachel's father or perhaps a brother?). Charles and Rachel Evans moved from Stokes County to Warren Co. OH. By 1850, Rachel was widowed and living in Marion Co. IN, where she died. Many of her children moved on to Illinois, Iowa and points west by the late 1800s.
