Hello Ray,
I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you...and I'm not sure if this information will help...but I feel it is a VERY good clue.
I have a William DUNHAM b. 28 May 1877 (where?) who was the son of William DUNHAM b.13 May 1852 in Jackson Co. Alabama & his 1st wife Mary MALONE (she was born ca 1853 TN)
William (1852) & Mary were married 9 May 1872 in Union Co. IL...and they had these children...
1. Fannie DUNHAM b. 1874 Herrin, IL
2. William DUNHAM b. 28 May 1877 (where?)
3. Prudence DUNHAM b. 1879(where?)
4. Oliver DUNHAM b.???
5. Walter Herbert DUNHAM b. May 1890 IL
6. Minnie DUNHAM b. ????
(BIRTH ORDER MAY BE WRONG!!!)
many of these people had strange and tragic lives...
Prudence committed suicide...by drinking carbonic lye!
Walter Herbert was killed in a truck accident!
Oliver was found floating in the Big Muddy River at Rattlesnake Ferry...he had been shot!
William was disowned by the family...and was never heard from again!
I thought perhaps this William who was disowned...could be yours???!!!
There are so many multiple marriages and strange events surrounding my DUNHAM line that I seem to expect the unexpected!
William (1852) married 3 times...and his second wife (my direct) was Melvinna (HOLMES) who married 6 times!!!!
I had heard a "story" about one of our DUNHAM lines having connections to Michigan...and perhaps this is it.
Interesting....eh?
Sharon
