Several people have posted data on this line. If you Google "Huxford Dunham," you'll find Gratia's file and others. See Charles BANKS' History of Martha's Vineyard. There are articles in The American Genealogist that help to sort out all of the Dunhams with the same names. Jonathan DUNHAM (1775, MA - 29 Aug. 1837, OH) m. 18 Nov. 1798, Susan MARCHANT. Census of Dukes Co. MA, 1810, has "Jona" DUNHAM. In 1830, there were three Jonathans in Clermont Co., OH. Elisha DUNHAM (3 May 1747 - 29 Aug. 1822, Edgartown, Dukes, MA) m. 4 Apr. 1769, Edgartown, Rebecca VINSON. Dukes Co., MA, census of 1790 has Elisha & Seth DUNHAM, et al. Elisha & Seth were both named in 1810, but that Seth would have been Elisha's son Seth, b. ca. 1778. Seth DUNHAM (by 1713 - 23 Aug. 1799, Edgartown, cooper) m. Naomi MARCHANT (1715 - Dec. 1785) d/o Hepsibah HUXFORD & John MARCHANT. Seth must have been of age in 1734 when his father gave him POA to sell land at Swan Hold, Plimpton, MA. Gershom DUNHAM (ca. 1665 - w. pr. 2 Nov. 1739, Edgartown, named son Seth, et al) m. ca. 1692, Mary CLARK. Jonathan (1631/2 - 18 Dec. 1717, Martha's Vineyard) [m1. 29 Nov. 1655, Mary DELANO, d/o Philip]; m2. 15 Oct. 1657, Mary COBB, b. 1637, Scituate, MA, d/o Patience [HURST] & Henry COBB, who d. 1679. Deacon John DUNHAM (ca. 1588, Bedfordshire, England - 1/2 Mar. 1668/9, Plymouth, MA, testate) m2. 22 Oct. 1622, Leyden, Holland, Abigail BAILLIOU, dau/o Thomas. John m1. 17 Aug. 1612, Clophill, Bedfordshire, Susannah KAIN0 / KEYNOE, dau/o Thomas who d. bef. 7 May 1612. John & Susannah had son John (bpt. 19 Feb. 1614/5, Henlow, Bedfordshire - will pr. 1692, Plymouth). Richard DUNHAM was buried 19 Nov. 1624, Langford, Bedfordshire; his will gave to son John "on his return." Mayflower Descendant (magazine, 1912), "Plymouth First Church Records." Our Brother Jonathan Dunham sent letters to the chh desiring our advice about gathering a chh at Edgartowne upon martha's vineyard, where he was imployed in Teaching the word, these letters were read to the chh April 8 & left to their consideration...Pastor & Mr. Samuel Fuller went to the vineyard, the chh was gathered, Mr. Dunham was ordained Teacher, October 11 (1694). Patience, his wf., bu. 4 May 1648. Henry COB m. 12 Dec. 1649, Sarah HIN(C)KLEY Mehitable (1 Sep. 1651 - 8 Mar. 1652) Samuel (12 Oct. 1654 - 7 Dec. 1727) Sarah (15 Jan. 1658 - 25 Jan. 1658) Jonathan, 10 Apr. 1660 Sarah, 10 Mar. 1662/3 Henry, 3 Sep. 1665 Mehitable, 15 Feb. 1667 Experience, 11 Sep. 1671. Jas. SAVAGE's Genealogical Dictionary of First Settlers of New England: James HURST, tanner, Plymouth, 1632; d. Dec. 1657. His will named his wf. exx. (her name is not clear, Gertrude or Catharine?) & grandchildren, John, James, Hannah, Patience, Gershom, & Eleazer COBB, & Mary, wf/o Jonathan DUNHAM, all ch/o dau. Patience, wf. of Henry COBB.
