Kathy: Snow and Ice today, so I stayed home and worked on your Dunham lineage. It appears to be from Richard Singletary, whose son Jonathan-2 took the surname of Dunham. Then through David-3, Jospeh-4, Moses-5 Dunham. Moses-5 b. say 1740, died after 20 Oct. 1759 when he was named in his father's will. He probably m. in Westfield 21 Sept. 1777 Mary Hampton. HOWEVER, I think she was a second wife and that Moses-5 had 2 sons by his first (unknown) wife. These were Joseph-6 b. abt. 1760-62; and Moses-6 b. abt. 1764. Moses-6 b. 1764 (not 1776) died 15 Sept. 1849 in Salt Creek Twp., Wayne Co. Ohio. Moses-6 may have been married twice, first to Catherine Moore, second to Sarah Leslie. More research needed, but the children probably of Sarah Leslie were: i. John-7 Dunham b. 4 April 1800 Fayette PA ii. Thomas-7 Dunham b. say 1803 iii. poss. Eleanor but this is still unclear iv. Henry-7 Dunham b. abt. 1804 v. Elizabeth-7 who m. Noah Brown vi. Phebe-7 Dunham b. 12 April 1811 Phebe Ann Dunham b. 12 April 1811; d. 22 April 1879 and is buried in the Tracy Cemetery, East Union Twp. Wayne Co. OH. He was son of Bazaleel and Mary (First) Tracy. For more information on this Dunham family please see a very nice web site done by Audrey Shields Hancock at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/grannyapple/ on the Dunham family of Cranford, NJ. Kathy, please contact me at gratia@woh.rr.com because I have a lot of supporting information that is too much to put in this reply. Also, I have some questions I'd like to ask you about the Merriman family of Maryland. Gratia Dunham Mahony Notify Administrator about this message?
