Hello Richard
I did a little more digging last night. I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that Daniel's middle name was Marrow... after his grandfather, Daniel Marrow. It looks like Lydia Marrow, wife of Israel Dunham, was a daughter of Daniel Marrow & Hannah Chandler of Phillips, Maine. Daniel & Hannah are buried in the Marrow Cemetery in Phillips.

In the 1840 census of Phillips, Maine, Israel Dunham DID have a male aged 10 to 15 with him in 1840, which is the right age for Daniel M. Dunham. I am still hoping to find a record that shows his parents names. If not on a marriage record, then perhaps his death record.
From what I have found so far it appears that Israel Dunham was a son of Joseph Dunham & Abigail Bates; a grandson of Israel Dunham & Hannah Whiting and great grandson of Sylvanus Dunham & Rebecca Crocker. Some of the earlier generations have been researched by others. It looks like the ancestry of Daniel Marrow has also been researched.
Sincerely, Tim Cooper, Buckfield, Maine
