Hello Marilyn Roth,
Thanks for sending a very detailed reply. My line is from Samuel Dunham who married Martha Wright 1783, their son Abraham, his son George, his son Joseph, his daughter Mary, and finally her son Joseph D. Hanafin, my father.I am Mary H. Schatz.
I have seen your postings, and I think you are also associated with the Dunham family, but not sure just where. Samuel Dunham’s father was another Samuel Dunham; his mother Waitstill Lord.I think this family spent their early years in or around Sharon Connecticut, and later moved to Amenia, NY.The ten children were Waitstill, Silva, Salome, Mary, Samuel, Jonathan, Seth, John, William, and Sarah. Some of the names you mention may be descendants from this large family. Samuel Dunham and wife Martha moved from NY to Bradford County, PA around 1808.Some descendants moved into the surrounding NY area.Samuel had a lengthy pension record from Revolutionary War Service, in which is mentioned among others his mother’s brother, Reuben Wright.
What is your connection with the Dunham family?
Thanks again for your posting.Mary Schatz
