Hello, Kenneth,Thanks for the information.
I was able to go to FamilySearch and find the information that you've posted on your DUNHAM line.Do you mean that you have the pension or just the military record for Samuel J. DUNHAM?The pension record is usually more helpful. In what company and regiment did he serve?
In your posting, did you omit a generation between David, b. 1741, & Micajah, b. ca. 1680, of Joseph, b. 1637, of Deacon John?I think on FamilySearch you listed another Micajah, b. ca. 1712-1716.Do you have documentation for your line?I would like to fill in those details and also connect your ggrandmother Mary Eliza.
We have differing information on the background of Deacon John DUNHAM.I believe that he was b. 1588, Bedfordshire, s/o Richard DUNHAM of Langford, Bedfordshire, who was buried 19 Nov. 1624, and died testate.I don't have the will, but it named son John, who was to have his inheritance upon his return, indicating that John was elsewhere (Leyden).John DUNHAM married 17 Aug. 1612, Clophill, Bedfordshire, Susanna KAINO, dau/o Thomas KAINO, who d. by 7 May 1612, leaving widow Joanne.John DUNHAM & Susanna had son John, bpt. 19 Feb. 1614/5, Henlow, Bedfordshire. The marriage of John DANHAM, widower of Suzanna KENO, accompanied by Thomas BALLIOU, his future father-in-law, to Abigail BALLIOU, accompanied by her sister Ann, was 22 Oct. 1622, Leyden. That's from the published translation of the record. The original Dutch handwriting is also copied, but, of course, I cannot read it.
Thanks again for posting!
