Since there are so many men named Daniel DUNHAM, you might need to look for any clues you can find on the comparatively rare names of BENTLEY & QUITTERFIELD.
"Genealogical Dictionary of...New England," by SAVAGE, says that Bentley is a parish in Doncaster, Yorkshire.William BENTLEY came to Boston, 1635, aged 47, in the "Truelove," with John, 17, & Alice, 15.John who d. 20 N 1690, Charlestown, may have been the son.Richard of Charlestown in 1690 had a wf. Margaret.TORREY's "New England Marriages to 1700" says that Richard BENTLEY & Margaret had a child b. 1687.William BENTLEY, Dorchester, m. 20 Jan. 1675, Mary HOUGHTON, b. 1653.William BENTLEY of Kingston, RI, d. 1720, left widow Sarah [LEITHFIELD?].
There were quite a few TIBBETT families [listed by TORREY], mostly of Dover, NH, & Kingston, RI.There is more on the TIBBETT family in "Genealogical Dictionary of ME & NH," by NOYES, LIBBY, & DAVIS.
COLDHAM's "Complete Book of Emigrants" verifies that Wm., John, & Alice BENTLEY were on the passenger list of the "Truelove," leaving London 19 S 1635 for New England, under Mr. John GIBBS [Public Record Office, E157/20].
"Genealogies of CT Families from NEHGR" says that Isaac BENTLEY sold a house & land in 1767, Salisbury, MA, to Patience OWEN.//Benj. QUITERFIELD m. 11 July 1728, Eunice, b. 3 Aug. 1701, d/o Saml. KELLOGG, who d. 1708, Colchester, CT.
There was still a [younger] Daniel DUNHAM of Oswego Co., NY, on the database of the 1880 Census at FamilySearch.org [free site, LDS].There were also several Daniel BENTLEY entries in New York. The eldest BENTLEY I see in the vicinity was William J. BENTLEY, 70, at Albion, NY.
Mayflower Descendant (magazine), 1910, reported a gift to the Massachusetts Society from Mr. Alexis FRYE, "The Diary of William BENTLEY, D. D., of Salem, MA," two volumes; & in 1914, volume 3, (1803 - 1810).
Good Luck!
