Posted on Tue, Feb. 26, 2002 Committeewoman Sarah E. Smith-Dixon, of West Oak Lane, 66 Sarah Elizabeth Smith-Dixon, a committewoman for the 10th Ward 6th Division for 15 years, died Wednesday of cancer. She was 66 and lived in West Oak Lane for many years. Born in North Phialdelphia, she was a power machine operator at Birdmen Mitten Mills in North Philadelphia for several years. In 1980 she went to work for the city's Recreation Department as a latchkey specialist. Smith-Dixon was a devoted longtime member of Philippian Baptist Church. She sponsored the youth choir and was member of the altar guild, the culinary ministry. She is survived by her four daughters, Kim Young, Robyn Dungee, Alice Dungee-James and Shawn Dixon; four sisters, Florence McClendon, Mildred Smith, Gwennie Thomas and Doris Smith; a brother, Edward Smith; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband William Dixon. Services: 11 a.m. today at Philippian Baptist Church, 5801 N.
