Dungate Family Genealogy Forum

We have a new group member from the Westwell Dungates. It is hoped to have the results of a DNA test before Christmas. This, it is hoped, will further underline the inter-relatedness of Dungates and Dengates. My current forecast - sticking my neck out - is that all four then tested will be shown to have a common ancestor, probably within about 3-4 generations prior to 1760.
All three tested to date belong to haplogroup E3b1. There is considerable information on the web about this haplogroup. Of course, even if you are a Dungate/Dengate, you will need to have a test to confirm that you are related and that correspondingly you are also a member of this broader haplogroup. If you are interested, please contact me. Only males can take the test and it is obviously necessary to be a Dungate or Dengate for the results to be meaningful within this family study.
