Grace Marie Mcguire (Dungan)
Grace Marie McGuire, longtime Hermiston resident, was born on January 31, 1926 in McDonald, Kansas to parents, William and Bertha Morris Dungan. She died on February 5, 2012 in Pendleton, Oregon at the age of 86 years. Grace was raised and attended school in Kansas and then worked for Boeing Aircraft for a time. Grace married Dale Burton McGuire on December 27, 1948 in Pasco, Washington. They lived in Pendleton, Oregon for a short time and Grace worked as a telephone operator. They then moved to Hermiston, Oregon where she has lived since. Grace worked as a waitress at Avalon’s Cafe in Hermiston, Oregon for several years. She later worked at Rocky’s Main Street Market in Stanfield, Oregon which later was owned by her son Stephen and became Steve’s Empire before she retired. Grace enjoyed gardening, camping, jigsaw puzzles, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grace and Dale built many woodworking projects together and enjoyed time with the coffee crew.
She is survived by her daughters: Connie Nye, Pendleton, OR, Cheri Correa & her companion Ron Abel, Hermiston, OR; son: Michael McGuire & his wife Johanna, Kuna, ID; granddaughters: Shannon Shroyer, Joely Nye-Felt, Kimberly Graham, & Erica McGuire; grandsons: Kyle McGuire, Jonathon McGuire, Neal Correa, & Kevin Correa; great grandchildren: Michael Graham, Morgan Graham, Ethan Shroyer, Leah Nye-Felt, Zachary Shroyer, Kian Nye-Felt, Qwinn Correa, & Aleayah Burgess.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, son Stephen McGuire, and 14 brothers & sisters.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
