Very interesting! I have been trying to figure out the murdered Dungan for a long time.

I have a notes indicating a family legend of a Judson or William DUNGAN murdered by his son-in-law during a robbery with a note that this may be William M. DUNGAN m. to Martha Jane WALTERS. Also that this may be William the son of John DUNGAN m. Sarah Jane WOODS, brother to a Judson DUNGAN whose descendents say he definitely was not murdered. Then in a separate note I have

William “Durg” b.bef 1876, d.Jan 22/28, resided Rocky Springs, murdered
       CH:
       9Edd Dudley b.4/28/1896, resided Utica MS
              CH:
              Hyrum Earl b.7/30/1928

Maybe if we dig a little we can document if these are the same person and if one is your William. If so, I have the lineage way, way back for you.
