Newly found census information shows that Margaret Dungan's mother had to be Mary Frances Gaskins. Some of her older sons migrated to California. In the 1900 census in California, birthdates are given for each individual. John D. Tilson, oldest son of Margaret Dungan Tilson and her husband William Tilson, lists his birthdate as September, 1821. This would put Margaret's birth before the abt. 1812 marriage of her father, John Robert Dungan, to Rebecca Wilson, making her the daughter of Mary Frances Gaskins.
