Dr. David Dungan c. 1762 -1810
Posted by: Robert Dungan Date: October 23, 1998 at 16:14:53

I am currently searching for information on Dr. David Dungan.   (1) I
am trying to find out about how/where he learned to be a physician and
(2) if he served in the Revolutionary Army. There are several references
in print to Dr. Dungan having been a surgeon in the Revolutionary Army.
If he was, he was a mighty young surgeon being about 13 when the war
started in 1775 and 21 years old when the war ended in 1783. I have my
own theory but would like to hear from others who may have factual
information. I also hesitate to print my theory least someone take it to
heart as truth.  My first record of him as a Doctor is in 1792 when he
is examining a pensioner in Westmoreland County Virginia (when he is
about 30). Visit my web page for more info on Dr. Dungan
