According to Justice (page 116), the line descends from Rev. Thomas Dungan (b. ca. 1634, d. 1687), son of William and Frances (Latham) Dungan, and his wife Elizabeth Weaver (b. ca. 1647, buried 1697 at Cold Spring, Bucks Co., Pa., dau. of Sergt. Clement & Mary (Freeborn) Weaver as follows:

George and Mary (Oliver) Drake, of Piscataway. Page 122: He lived in Northampton Township, Bucks Co. and he owned land in Bristol and Warwick Twps. His will dated Feb. 9, 1758, proved Jul. 4, 1759, mentions sons John, Thomas, Joseph and James; grandsons Samuel, Jacob and Jonathan (sons of son Jonathan, deceased); daughters Elizabeth Hellings, Mary Barton and Sarah Stephens.

July 3, 1797, dau. of Reynold and Mary (George) Howell, of the Welsh Baptist Meeting of Pencarder Hundred, New Castle, Delaware, and widow of Rev. Abel Morgan, whom she married June 4, 1746 (First Baptist Church, Phila.). P. 133: Children all by first wife. He moved from Southampton to Lower Dublin Twp., Phila. Co. on Dec. 18, 1749. In 1780 he was one of the largest tax payers in Lower Dublin. All his sons were soldiers in the Revolutionary War, or in the militia after the war. The will of James Dungan dated Feb. 4, 1782, proved Feb. 26, 1782, at Phila., mentions wife Elizabeth and (page 134) children John, Benjamin, Jesse, Jonathan, James, Massey Fisher, Phebe Johnson, Levi, Sarah Fisher; grandchildren Hester Fisher; James son of Jesse Dungan. He makes reference to his former wife and a daughter Ruth, deceased. He left a large sum of money in trust for the Baptist Church at Pennypack.
