Thank you very much for the information about Michael Dunfield. John Dunfield is my father's first cousin. It is very difficult to find any information about the Dunfields in Ireland. And in Canada, I find the name spelled in many ways: Dunfield, Danfield, Donfield, Deinfeld, etc. These spellings are all taken from censuses in Canada. It makes me wonder how the name was pronounced when our relatives first came over from Ireland!

I assume the Dunfields were a relatively small group in Ireland although my branch certainly all had large families (10 children and more) here in Canada. They have spread across the country from Quebec to B.C.
