Where in Ireland did Sarah Jane Dunphy come from? My mother's maiden name was Dunphy. Her father, Peter Dunphy, came from Queens County in Ireland. Came to the U.S. in 1870-1871??? He settled in Lee, Massachusetts. After the death of both her parents my mother went to Fall River, Massachusetts to live with a cousin. I do not know very much about the Dunphy side of my family (am still searching)but believe that my grandfather's parents were: Thomas Dunphy and Sara Rourke.
