Karen: I thought I had an answer for you about Lucinda but, alas, the dates don't match. The mother of the African-American painter, Robert S. Duncanson (1821-1872) was Lucy. But his biography lists her dates as 'c.1782-1854'. Her husband, John Dean Duncanson, whose father Charles was a former slave in Virginia freed at the time of the Revolution, was born in New York and he brought Lucy up from slavery in Virginia to be his wife. Interesting but I'm afraid of no help to you. Robert Duncanson, Kitchener, Ontario
