Hello Tim,

I have just had my brother's DNA tested via ancestry.com. My Duncan family descend from John Duncan-b1714 St Monance, Scotland/William Duncan-b1743 St Monance, Scotland/James Duncan b-1770 Chatham, NC/Garner Paris Duncan b1804 NC/William Howard Duncan-b1832 NC/William Wesley Duncan-b1870 Leighton, Ala/James Howard Duncan (my father) b-1922 Hugo, OK. From our Duncan Family tradition, it was said that William Duncan b1743, came to America in 1769-70. The journey took a number of weeks and that a severe storm was encounterd and he was blown South of his intended Carolina Port. It was also said that he traveled with his new wife, but unknown if other Duncan family members were with him. This information was compiled by Mr. Joe C. Harris and given to me by the late Anneta Gibson whom I had the privledge of meeting in the early 1980's. Her husband was William David Gibson and he was the Grandson of Mary Francis Duncan my Grandfather's sister. I will send you our results once they are complete.
