Hello Marie: Sorry I took so long to respond.
I too have quite a bit of info on Wm.Dunbar& Martha Willis-thanks for the help in separ-ating some of these Williams? I am curious abt one thing; found newspaper article abt the fire that destroyed the Dunbarton Plan-tation, which at that time was owned by J.F. H. Claiborne (fire in 2/21/84); found marr-iage of Martha Dunbar to Claiborne 12/17/28 Is this Wm.'s widow? Just wondered.I have tracked info on Robt.& Ann Dunbar & their issue; still don't know if there is a con-nection to my line. My gggr.father was John Dunbar, b:ca 1819-21 in MS., probably in or near Jefferson Co., Brandywine Sprgs.;Marr- ied Clarinda Short 1845;2nd Matilda Cater, 1853-both in Copiah Co.;I am trying to figure out who his parents were?Out of Robt.'s group,I'm interested in Samuel,Isaac or Robt. Dunbar, Jr.; these 3 I have scant info on them or their issue; Also interested in Joseph & James, Sr. or Jr.; I would appreciate any info that you think would be useful to me. I do know that my John had brothers/half-brothers named James A. Dunbar b:1803 LA, m: Sarah Adeline Cooper, may have been wf #2, no issue, d:in AR bet. 1860-70/ Jackson G. Dunbar b:1815 LA., m: 4x & had at least 4 children d:1890 MS; Gipson C. Dunbar b: 1817 LA., never married, no issue/ Have quite a bit on Jackson Dunbar, but unable to figure out parentage. My Dunbars primarily settled early on in Copiah & Jefferson Co.: My John d:Pt.Lookout,MD as Pow, in Oct. 1863: his only surviving child from his marriage to Clarinda Short was my ggrand- father, Jefferson Davis Dunbar, b:1847-1910. Clarinda was daughter of Davis Short & Unity Barksdale of Copiah & Jefferson Co. If you have anything that will help me in this process of elimination, I would appreciate it. Janice
