Your grandfather did not make up the DUNBAR name.He may of changed his name to DUNBAR, or adopted the name for himself.Here are the DUNBAR records I have for living in CT:

I don't know of any of their children.If your grandfather came from this line, and was really "A DUNBAR", it would have had to of been from Edward, John, or Samuel's line, because of the difference in years.
