Hi,
I did a quick census records search for you and found a James A. McDowell in the 1900 Montgomery Co., Louisburg Twp, Kansas page 240.His birth is listed as Oct 1858 in Kentucky he's a farmer and his parents are from KY, he's been married 7 years.
Wife: Lola born June 1872 Indiana, parents from Indiana
Daughter: Mattie A. born December 1894
Daughter: Fannie A. born March 1895
Son: James A. born June 1898
Mother: Martha J. Hurst born Sept 1833 Kentucky (widow)
Servant: Hattie Fisher born October 1879 (divorced)
In 1910, 1920, 1930 census's records James A. McDowell and wife Lola V. are still in the Montgomery Co., Louisburg Twp, Kansas census records.Daughter Matties name in 1910 is now Avis M. and son James A.'s name is changed to Allen J. (This sometimes happens).
In the 1930 census Fannie is no longer living with them so I'm presuming she's married to "Dunbar"...I checked to see if they were in the same township for 1930 but I couldn't find them listed.
Hope this helps.Without "Dunbar's first name it will be more difficult to find them....do you have any of her children's names? You might try going to your local library and using their internet connection for genealogy to bring up the 1930 census records for Dunbar's in Kansas and see if you can find them.
Good luck.
Cindy (Dunbar) Bailey
