Some of the most complete information on William Dunbar of the Forest plantation can be found in "Life, Letters and Papers of William Dunbar of Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland" by Dr. Roland Dunbar.Hopefully you can locate a library that has a copy.I know there is a copy in the L.S.U. library (in their 'Louisiana Room') on theBaton Rouge campus. There is usually a bit of information in most historical books on Natchez or on Baton Rouge (which was New Richmond during his time).Through writings about the Lewis & Clark expedition should also have some information on him.
