sounds like we have the same charles. have heard that mary was the cherokee and charles took her name. charles born in virginia, 1810 mary born in north carolina, 1813. children; nancy emiline 1830, lucinda caroline, 3/4/1831 died dec. 13 1902; mary ann born 1833 died 3/21/1877; elizabeth ann, born 1835; william andrew hendley, born 10/11/1837 died 5/9/1915, my great grandfather. jimima sophronia jane born 10/29/1839, died 9/21/1907; martha c.; born 5/1842 died 11/20/1909. charles and mary were probably married in tenn. all seven children were born there. they were in mccracken co., ky. in 1850 some members of this family were in greene co. ark. in late 1850's and early 1860's.mary was in the 1850 mccracken co census.have marriages and children of this family also. i to have no information about charles before this. would like to find out for sure which was the cherokee. any information appreciated. thanks.
