Hi Judy, I am not aware of a Truman. I am sure there is a connection. Elijah was my great-great grandfather and his father's name was also Elijah. The younger Elijah had a good number of brothers and was a constable in Union county (per the 1880 census, not 1850, my mistake). The old Elijah had sons: William (1833 ?), Abraham (1837 ?), James (1839 ?), Stephen (1842 ?), Joseph (1847 ?), and Elijah (1849 ?). There was a sister to these men: Clara Amanda (1845 ?)
The younger Elijah Married a girl named Julia. They had sons: Isaac Stephen (1870), William Thomas (1873), Joseph Arthur (1878, and daughters: Mary E. (1875), Martha F.(1880).
William Thomas and brother Isaac S. moved to southeast Arkansas, Bradley Co., and took wives there.
I hope this will help. Let me know. I have a few more details, not much.
