I, too, have a Dun(n)away/Ward connection. My great-grandfather, James Wilson Dunaway, was married 3x. 1)Lizzie Simmons 2)Eliza Sowell & 3)Amanda Kirkland. The children from the 2nd marriage: Annie & Jannie are found living with their aunts & uncle in the 1900 census Henry County, AL. Hearsay is that wife # 3 was downright mean to the children of the 1st & 2nd marriage so they lived with their's mother's side [I think..., looking back it their grand-mother's side...??]. My father is from the 1st marriage son. His sister (also from #1) ran away... whether due to # 3 or not, I have no clue.

The next connection to the Wards is thru my 2nd great-grandfather Macon Dunaway. His sister, Rhoda, married George Ward. Macon & his son, James Wilson, are living with George & Rhoda during the 1860 census in Russell County, AL.

whew!! If you have any information on the Dunaway's... I would love to exchange info.

My line runs as: James Wilson Dunaway - James Thomas Dunaway - Virgil Noah Dunnaway & then me... Connie Dunnaway Poston.
