Will,
I just re-read this post, and noticed something I'd overlooked before. You mentioned a book ‘Records of Indentured Servants and Certificates for Land. Northumberland County, Virginia 1650-1795' Compliled by W. Preston Haynie (Heritage Press 1996).

Mr. Haynie died in June, which is a tremendous loss to the Northern Neck genealogical community. I had the pleasure of visiting the Northumberland Historical Society several times and spending pleasant hours with Preston. He even opened the library especially for me when my schedule conflicted with their normal operating hours. He was the epitome of a true Southern gentleman.

I also wanted to discuss this statement "I believe Darby was the brother of my ancestor, John Dunaway of Northumberland County, Virginia." Do you have some fairly strong documentation of that? I have a reasonable amount of circumstantial evidence linking my branch back to Darby. The fact that you and I matched so closely in our DNA results doesn't hurt that case.

Thanks,
Gary
