I just got a packet of NARA papers on a gggrandfather who had to prove identity for pension, and there was a copy of his marriage cert. He married a young lady named C.E. Dun. She also went by Charlotte E. and Charity or Charita. I have found all combinations connected to her. Anyway, she was living with a Flannary family in Bosque County, TX just prior to her marriage. The family story we had always heard was that she was an Irwin or Irvin and both parents died during Civil War, and that a "Dunn" family took her in and possibly adopted her. Her Marriage cert had "Charity E. Dun" on it, April 19, 1875. I was always told she was born Ft Smith, Ark, but all of the census she appears on have birthplace MO, dad born Ireland and mom born MO. I do not know if she had siblings. I do have a few photos of her tho. She married Charles A. Brighton, btw, and one of the papers she filed for widow's pension has her place of birth "Newellsho... MO" Writing is hard to read. I am thinking it may be "Neosho, Newton Co, MO' I can't find a town of Newellshou or anything close, and phonetically, Neosho fits.

The Flanary family that she was living in with in Tx was headed by Abram Flanary of Ill, 1870 Crawford Co., Ark and then Bosque Co., Tx
