I have been searching for the descendants of the voyaguer from Montreal, Jean Baptiste Dumont who married Mrs. Jean Dumont near Ft. Edmonton, Saskatchewan and had son Jean born 1808.

Another child is believed to be Mary Elizabeth aka Lisette Dumont who married Antoine Clement and had Basil Jacque Marie Clement (Claymore) born 7 January 1824, an early settler of St. Louis and early Dakota cattleman. Bsils wife was Mary Sarpy, daughter of Thomas Lestang Sarpy and Her Good Road.

There was a Paul in the mix of descendants which I could not place (and cannnot find now).

I found both Jean Baptiste Dumont and Antoine Clement lines in Quebec--way back to earliest settlers who were encouraged to go out and hune furs and marry Indians.
