Francois Dumas/Anne Rollin, Francois Dumas/Marg. Foye, Rene Dumas dit Recontre

When I first started researching my Dumas line, which originates from Francois Dumas and his first wife, Marguerite Foye, everyone was sending me data stating that Francois was the son of Francois Dumas and his wife Anne Rollin. In the last 9 years that I have spent verifying all of the data I have received, I have NEVER come across any data actually corroberating this data with an official source that Francois (husband of Marguerite Foye) was the son of Francois and Anne Rollin.

So I verified the data myself and corroberated it with an official source. The data I found states that Charles Dumas and Anne Lemaire were in fact the parents of Francois Dumas (husb. of Marguerite Foye). SOURCE: Dumas family genealogy data from Tanguay Dictionnaire Genealogique Vol. 1, 1608-1700, Pg. 211

It also seems that many also state that Besides Francois Dumas and Anne Rollin being the parents of Francois (husband of Marguerite Foye) that they were also the parents of Rene Dumas dit Recontre.

According to The Dumas family genealogy data from Tanguay Dictionnaire Genealogique, by Monk Cyprien Tanguay, Vol. 1, 1608-1700, Pg. 211 this also appears to not be so.

They list Rene Dumas (seen as "Dumats") dit Recontre's parents as Claude Dumas ("Dumats") and Francoise Leger. This is at least a verifiable source by a monk who had access to the church records at a time when they were not worn with age and not yet yet damaged by acid paper and moisture. I find this source to be extremely reliable.

The problem is that myself and others receive this data and nobody ever states what their sources are. If you have verifiable proof that can be corroberated with an official source (church records, census records, military records, cemetery records, published material by a reliable author) that Francois Dumas (husband of Marguerite Foye) was the son of Francois Dumas and Anne Rollin then please state it here so that others know the source.

My source (a very valid, reliable one) is pictured in an attachment below. And I always try to use only verifiable information in my family tree to keep it as accurate as I can.
