Hello,
A site that might be helpful to you is http://www.fmoran.com - this site has extensive data on many early families in North Carolina. William Dull and Sarah Shelton are in the Dull/Doll family with one child, Sanford. I have a birth date of 1803 and a death date of 1887 for Sanford. I have been to various cemetaries in Lewisville, NC researching the Dull family but I don't remember if this is where I got the birth/death date for Sanford. George Edward Dull(my 2nd great grandfather)is buried in the Union Methodist Church cemetery in Lewisville, NC. William Dull, father of Sanford Dull, is buried in the Concord United Methodist Church cemetery along with many Dull relatives dating back to 1813. There are many very old gravestones that are undecipherable in this cemetary as well as many recent ones. I have copies of death certificates of three of William Dull's children who are also buried at Concord - William Irvin Dull, Bettie E. Dull Black, and G. Henderson Dull. I don't have any info as to where Sanford Dull is buried, but a search of Forsyth County cemetery records might show where. There is a book listing cemetery records of Forsyth in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public Library.
In 1850 Sanford Dull is living in the Stephen Shelton family (who have children ages 11-21). Sanford is 2 years old - could he be a grandson or nephew? Sanford is also listed in the 1920 NC census, Vienna Township, age 71, head of household, living with son Stephen age 22 and a housekeeper and three boarders.
Hope this helps you. Good luck with your research.
Jeanette Pinnix
