I'm still trying to prove the parents of William Sylvanus Dula.Census 1850 Wilkes lists Elizabeth Dula age 40, Sylvanus 18, Larkin 12, Amanda 12. Marriage bond Sylvanus 1855 Wilkes lists bondsman as William L. Dula witness Wm. T. Ferguson.
I think another brother is George Hamilton Dula born 17 Oct 1840 Wilkes Co. When he was 7 he went to live with relatives in Caldwell Co. Death certificate lists parents as Alfred Dula and Elizabeth Wadkins. In 1860 he is listed in Indiana census living with Larchine (Larkin) Dula and his family and an Elizabeth Dula age 51. Occupation school teacher. After being discharged from the army he moved to McLean Co., Ill. and in 1868 moved to Woodbury Co., IA. He married Mary A. Woodford Sep 22, 1879 and died 13 Jan 1905.
Elizabeth Wadkins Dula died 1 Mar 1874Woodbury Co.Alfred Dula died in Woodbury Co. in 1879.
I have not found a death certificate for William Sylvanus locally or at the state. I would like to find some way to confirm his tie to Alfred Dula and Elizabeth Wadkins.
