I found your message (listed below) on RootsWeb. James Henry DUKE and Sarah Matilda JOHNSON are my wife's 2nd Great Grandparents. We too have been researching this family and attempting to determine Matilda's parents. So far, we have not run into any GOAD relations.
Are you assuming that this entry in the 1860 Harrison Twn Census is Matilda's first marriage?

Trying to determine maiden name of Sarah Matilda. She may be a cousin of mine. Hoping to find out her maiden name was GOAD. If so her first husband was James Johnson and they moved to White Co., AR @1858 from Madison Co.,TN.
