The one thing in looking at Joseph's sons names is that they all seem to be mostly last names being used as first names. Also I notice that we tend to forget about Mary, Joseph's wife. Since we do not know much about Mary's family, the question really is which of these sons names honors the father's side of the family and which the mother's side. I think if we could find out more about her and her family, that would probably answer some of these name origin questions.
