Marlene-we are talking about the same family. You are right - the original George Duke and Mary Quirk married in New Foundland, then went to Port Mulgrave (near Guysborough or Guysborough County) and Canso Gut in Nova Scotia and then followed their numerous children down into Maine. They resided in Stonington-Deer Isle near several of their children. The George Duke who resided in New Brunswick must have been a son but I think he ended up in Stonington-Deer Isle also. There is another great grand-daughter who now lives in the mid coast Me area who has done a lot of research.Look for Victoria Duke on the Ancestry . com Duke message board or the Duke sisters on Ancestry at the State of Maine message board.I have most of my original information from the Stonington-Deer Isle ME Historical Society and would be willing to copy and send on to you.George and Mary's daughter Victoria (Duke) Smith, then Bailey was my great great grandmother. She was a sister to George of Stonington.Gross is a very common name in Deer Isle and Stonington.
