Viola, since the Duhigg family is not a big one and is found mainly in Limerick, Cork and Tipperary, you are probably related. Dennis is a common name in the Duhigg family as well. My ancestor,Timothy Duhigg, had a brother David, bc 1811 in Bruff, County Limerick. David had one son named Dennis, who was brought to the US as an infant. This Dennis was on his way to a career in the Law, as a student at Dartmouth College, when the Civil War began and President Lincoln called for Volunteers. He raised a company of men from his home state of Vermont, and was killed at the Battle of Opequon/Winchester, VA in 1864.

Please write to my email address (click on my name) and let me know more about your Duhigg family in Iowa. A cousin of my Timothy settled there.
