I am new at this so be patient. My name is Diane Padbury born Richard in Shippegan N.B. on October 23, 1957. My parents were Edouard Richard born March 03, 1926 in Ranford, Maine and my mother was Maria Duguay born in Shippegan August 7, 1934. Her parents were Gervais Duguay born in 1902 and Emilie Duguay born February 1, 1900. Emilies parent were Marie Landry and Sylvestre Duguay. This is as much as I know about the Duguay. I tried to do my family tree but got discourage pretty quick living in Regina, Saskatchewan, the birth records and archives are not easy to get from here so I gave up. I came accross a book a few years ago written by Bona Arsenault about the parish of St-Godefroy in Gaspesie where there was mention of the first Duguay to arrive in this contry. I also have a family history about Francois Duguay maried to Madeleine Chapados on May 4 1761 in Restigouche who is I believe the first Duguay to live in Shippegan. He was the son of Rene Duguay(Rene's nameis actualy Irene and was born in Bretagne Fance) and Marguerite Lebreton from Paspebiac. But accordind to this book written by Bona Arsenault from the archives of St-Godefroys parish, Renes sons were Pierre who made his home in Caraquet, Jacques in Shippegan, Rene in Pabos, Francois and Jean Marie in Bonaventure. Hope this can help you and may be somoene can help me with finding more about my family history.
