Stephen Pierce Duggan, (1870-1950), lawyer/PhD, son of Hugh/Mary, of NY
I have an original snapshot photograph of “Stephen Pierce Duggan and Allen Scott”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1898-1900 and each of them looks to be in their 20s.
I found in Wickipedia that “Stephen Pierce Hayden Duggan (December 20, 1870, New York City - August 18, 1850, Stamford, Connecticut) was a United States scholar and educator known as the ‘apostle of internationalism.’” A Rootsweb posting shows Stephen Pierce Duggan, with same birth and death dates as above, was married to Sarah, and they lived in White Plains, NY. Connecticut Death Index shows that he lived in Fairfield (Stamford) CT at the time of his death in 1950. He held degrees from CCNY and a 1902 PhD from Columbia University. Biographical Dictionary of American Educators, vol.1, shows he was son of Hugh and Mary (Hayden) Duggan, and that he married 1902 Sarah Alice Elsesser and they had four children. In 1910, family lived NYC; in Westchester Co. in 1920; and Fairfield Co., CT in 1940.
