Thank you so much for your help. I had his name as Abraham Dufur and hers as Clara. I suspected that Abraham and Abel were one and the same, but didn't know for sure. I am originally from Washington Co., Ohio where both David Dufur and Susan Root were from. I have been working on the Root genealogy and wanted to get as much of the Dufur side in as possible. I also note that David and Susan (Root) Dufur were in Henry Co. IL for a while, Augustus Dufur married in 1852 in Henry Co., IL., and Leonard Dufur married in 1852 in Stark Co., IL (which adjoins Henry Co.)to Sarah Emery and their daughter, Mary Ann was born and married in Henry Co. Other Root family members were also in Henry Co. IL at the same time, as well as a couple of other families from Washington Co., Ohio. Are you a Dufur descendant? I assume you are since you have so many facts. Where do you fit in? I'd be glad to send you anything I have so you can compare. I've been known to make an error here and there and surely appreciate the imput from another researcher. You can reach me directly at...waterman67@adelphia.net......Thanks again. Good to hear from you.
