my sister janet and i carol docherty would like some informaton about our duffy/coogan relatives living in usa. our great grandfather was daniel patrick duffy he had a brother called john. they were born in lackin county monaghan ireland. daniel married annie coogan in 1880. daniels parents were patrick and anne duffy nee boyle. annie parents were thomas and winifred coogan nee redishan born in ireland. daniel moved from ireland to wishaw scotland where he met annie they had 9 children born in scotland. they were annie. margaret .bridget (my grand mother)mary twins b 1884 mary died in 1886. winifred. mary daniel. isabella and rosina who was born 1898. daniel and his family emigrated to usa in approx 1903 his brother and wife mary also emigrated time not known. bridget returned to uk and married bernard docherty in wishaw scotland they moved to middlesbrough uk their children were daniel annie samuel and thomas twins 1915 henry (harry) and margaret twins 1921 margaret died 1923. harry was our father. daniel returned to ireland in 1912 with annie he died in 1916 rosina had been to lackin to visist them she returned to usa. cousins john and margaret coogan also emigrated to usa approx 1903 ellis island records show several coogans travelling with duffys at various times in early 1900's
