I received the following today from a Duffy descendant named Cynthia, who says she is looking for the following information on the abovementioned individual:
i am trying to find information on how to read the birth and marriage index records books so that i can find his marriage to mary jane williams around 1890. james duffy and a son albert which had another son which had me cynthia duffy. nobody knows in the family when they were married. james and mary jane. but i can find a james and a mary jane having marriages registered in the first quarter of 1890 aukland co durham england. can anyone help me figure out how to read the books i got this information of off ancestory uk and would like to get a copy but don't know how. i am just starting my family tree
