My great-great-great grandmother was Julianna (Julia) Duffy, eldest daughter of William & Bridget Duffy. She was born in Milltown, Parish of Dunlavin, County Wicklow on March 21, 1821. She emigrated to America with her parents around the mid to late 1820's. She married my greatg-g-grandfather Christopher Deering who was born and raised in Ireland at very close proximity to Julia's birth place. He was born in Usk, Parish of East Narraghmore, County Kildare. He emigrated around 1849 and met and married Julia around 1855 in Philadelphia. They had 5 children (William, John, Thomas, Anna, Emily). I know Julia had two siblings living in the U.S.A. around the time of her death April 7, 1866. Her brother resided in New York and her sister resided in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. I do not know their names or whether they were born in Ireland or the U.S.A. This is information I received from several newspaper articles at the time of her death. Her father William was born around 1798 and was probably also from Co. Wicklow. He died in Philadelphia on August 19, 1880. Her mother Bridget died June 18, 1868 in Philadelphia. I don't know what her maiden name was. I hope this helps. Good luck!
