I don't have any specific info on Clinton Co., NY but some of my DUFFYs did move from Providence, RI to Rochester, Monroe Co., NY and I still don't know what the draw was to that area. Liverpool to Boston seems to be the big route at that time although there are others. I heard that a bit later there was some canal route that lead to upstate NY built but I think it was after your dates. If they lived in Providence, RI ever I would be happy to look up something for you.
