My great grandfather was Charles Duffy born July 17, 1854 in Western Minnesota and died in July, 1927 in Farley, Iowa. My mother tells the story that he was with a group of settlers moving west when he got to North or South Dakota, and decided to turn around and come home. the next day the entire group was massacred by native Americans. That's all I know. Good Luck.
