My information on Adam Clark Duffey is a little different. I do not believe John Gazeway Duffey was born in Ireland. The ancestors immigrating from Ireland were John Nelson Duffey and his wife Margaret Pharr, who arrived in the early 1770s. They had a number of chldren, including a son William Jefferson Duffey who died in Alabama. John Gazeway was William's son. I am a descendant of another of William's sons - Samuel David Duffey, who lived near Adam Clark in Alabama. Here is a link to Adam's Civil War pension records, if you don't have it: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/al/tallapoosa/military/civilwar/pensions/duffey-a.txt. I have additional information I would be happy to exchange>
